I get emails from around the world asking questions about Taoism. The other night I received a post from the Middle East. The email was very energetic and the person asked questions to help settle some angst. What was interesting about this email was how it made me wonder who it was from. For instance how do you know if an email from London offering you a million dollars is from either (a) the friendly hard working Nigerian scam artist or (b) a honest London lawyer? The point being: what is it in an email that makes us feel it's authentic? In the Nigerian example the extreme idea of a honest lawyer breaks all sense of reality, so you know it's unreal. However, most other emails from strangers don't break the rules of reality so conveniently.

In my case after I read the email, I decided I couldn't tell if it was legitimate or from Homeland Security / FBI trying to determine if I was a security risk to America. I decided to show the email to a friend or two. Their responses were similar. That it indeed could be a fake email from Homeland security or it could be a honest email. I do my best to respond to all emails and what was interesting is that I responded right away since I decided how I should answered the email would actually be the same in either case. That is with honesty and trying to be helpful. After all if it were some FBI agent, it was obvious they needed help as they were living a lie by sending out these testing emails to Taoist Peace Activists.

So the purpose of this blog is Not to give you the "How to Meet Quality Men" advice... because you’re not ready for that yet. This blog is to help you look in the mirror and get honest with yourself and let go of All your excuses for not meeting the good guys. Once you do that I have a little exercise for you that will help you get on the right track to meeting your ideal mate. Take the next few weeks and begin writing about the type of man that you believe would be best suited to you. To be successful with this exercise you will want to continue to work with this exercise every day for the next few weeks and keep refining it. This is not any easy ‘do it in one sitting’ assignment. Nope, it takes some real soul searching and rethinking about whom would be best suited to you in a long term relationship today. But I promise you it’s worth the effort. It’s the way to get what you want in life rather than thinking there is a reason you can’t have what you want… because you believe your excuses. Watch for my next blog post where I will take you through the next step of how and where to meet relationship minded men. Please leave me a comment and let me know if you think it’s a good idea to let go of your excuses for not meeting decent men. Or if you think I’m off base let me know what your experience has been. The end!

Any logical thinking person could understand if all the good men over 40 are taken... well what’s a women to do? Before you scream Suzy, you don’t know what you’re talking about’ and stop reading... hang in here with me a few more minutes. I think there is something here that could completely change your experience of meeting good men. The first thing I want you to know is I have walked in your shoes and been exactly where you are. In my 40's when I discovered my husband had been cheating on me and left that marriage with two teenage daughters I was at my lowest low of a lifetime. And it got worse from there as I began to venture out into the dating world. Just like you I began to see the reasons as to why it was next to impossible to meet trustworthy men. But it was during this time that I accidentally discovered these reasons for not dating decent men really only helped me feel better about my frustrating problem. I mean what could I do if most of the men online were losers and that the men my age in my city were more interested in dating younger women and on and on? It was out of my control right? And when anybody challenged me on why I was having this problem I just said... listen you’re not out there and you have no idea what it’s like. The thing is I did not want to have to face the reality that maybe I was the reason for my problem. That was too hard to swallow and made feel like crap. And, it also caused me a lot of anxiety to think about getting outside of my comfort zone. But... when I finally got honest with myself... It was my desire to stay in my "comfort zone" that was the crux of my problem. Now I’m not going to try to convince you that it’s easy to meet decent men at this point in your life. It takes a commitment to do some things that will at first feel uncomfortable. It takes courage to keep putting one foot in front of the other and not stop because you have a bad experience. To be continued...

Stefan Moxahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06163506392644126278noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2887893373902129407.post-87297041406290233332015-01-22T03:37:00.002-08:002015-12-03T04:03:57.096-08:00Why can’t Women over 40 Meet trustworthy Men - Part 1

A trustworthy relationship means only good surprises. What do you consider to be your biggest obstacle to meeting trustworthy men? Some women tell me where they live there are very few men available their age. Now some of these women that consider this a problem live in small towns while others live in large cities. Other women have told me that all the good men over 40, 50 or 60 are already taken. And still other women have told me that all the men their age seem to want to date younger woman. And most of these women say they have given up on the online dating sites because they’re tired of meeting the wrong men or men who lie about their marital status and everything in between. So if you are a single woman in your 40's 50's or beyond are you just doomed to spend the rest of your life alone based on how your view your circumstances? The answer is Yes and No... If you chose to believe all of the issues mentioned above like... the good men are already taken etc. than yes, you most likely will never meet your Mr. Right... at least not in this lifetime. On the other hand if you wake up to the truth... you will realize that these reasons you give yourself about why you can’t meet decent men is just a way to help you feel better about your situation. In other words it’s easier on the ego to say there is nothing I can do about the lack of good men in my city etc. To be continued...

Hi Beauties! I've not seen many July faves blog posts only videos on youtube so I thought why cant I do it? So here are a few of my fave things from July hope you enjoy. Revlon Photo Ready foundation. It matches my skin perfectly which is rare for foundation. I find it evens my complexion, doesn't feel heavy on the skin and doesn't make my dry skin look flaky. Its a must! Barry Ms Red black nail polish. Its not a summer colour but I love dark reds on nails. Its my go to nail varnish. Urban Decays all Nighter setting spray. I was apprehensive at first but the spray really does make my makeup last longer. Not only that it is really refreshing when you apply it. I will be writing a review very soon. Organic Surge Eye Gel. I am always raving about this eye gel. It stays cool and refreshes my eyes. I would be lost without it. Batiste Tropical XXL dry shampoo. My roots are awful at the moment I am working silly hours so cannot get to the hairdressers. This is a lifesaver until I am able to get my roots coloured. The XXL one is even better as you don't have to worry about running out for a long time.

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well. I have had some great news this week regarding my blog... some that I cant broadcast just yet but one that I can share with you all is that I have been selected by More Magazine to be apart of their Hot 100 - Woohoo! I basically applied by sending an email to the magazine stating which products I like and why and out of all of the entries I have been picked out of the bloggers category! I'm so excited. I'm unsure at the moment what I will be doing but it ranges from testing out products that will be published in the mag and giving my opinion on everything beauty related. Who woulda thought after just 1 year my blog would have come this far? I'd like to thank you so much for all of your support. I love waking up in the morning and having emails from you asking how I am or advice on a certain product. It really makes my day! Keep checking back for more updates about the More's Hot 100!
Thank you for the messages and comments. I really truly appreciate it. I think I miss blogging already. I will see how I feel in a week or two but it is the pure act of writing and interacting with you all that I miss. Your support is sort of overwhelming so I shall say thank you once again. I have been thinking of writing a post like this for quite a long time and I think the time has come - without wanting to sound too dramatic! You may have noticed that I frequently promise to make lots of videos and write lots of blog posts but as much as I try and will myself, ultimately I don’t have the motivation - at least not at the moment. This was something I started a few years ago and I think, to some extent, I have moved on. The “fun”, hobbyist element has also dramatically fallen away and I have always told myself that if it stops becoming fun, then I stop.

As simple as that. And that’s how I feel at the moment. The way I look at it I shouldn’t have to “make” myself do this - I should want to and to be brutally honest, I just don’t these days. And yes, I do consider the beauty community a bit of a negative place at the moment. I wanted to write this post to set any expectations that you might have about me. I won’t be updating this for a while and YouTube is not something that will be updated either. This may well be a little holiday - maybe I just need an extended break and time to become excited about things again, but in any case I want to issue a huge thank you to all of you that have supported me by writing comments and sending lovely messages over the years. I will still be tweeting - probably more than usual as it will be my main outlet - but let’s call this an extended blog holiday. Hope to see you here again soon! Take care everyone!

I don't know about you but I cannot live without my face wipes. I love the feeling of taking my makeup off after a long day. For years I have been using quite expensive face wipes but I had to buy some wipes in a rush as I didn't have my regular ones with me. I popped into Tesco and spotted these Tesco Cucumber Cleansing Wipes. They were only 45p so I expected them not to be as good as my more expensive ones that I usually use... Never judge an items quality by the price tag! There are 25 wipes in a pack and they're enriched with soothing cucumber and aloe vera. They gently take off my makeup including waterproof mascara without fail. They leave my face feeling clean and refreshed. They don't contain any chemicals so they're kind to your skin and theyre suitable for all skin types. I also left the pack undone over night and they didn't dry out not even the wipe on top! For 45p my beauties this item is a must! Throw out your expensive wipes and head down to your local Tesco!
Lately my hair has started looking quite dry due to all the styling I put it through. I believe in changing hair products regularly as my hair gets used to a product and stops benefiting from it. So last week when I was in Boots I spotted a great offer that I couldn’t resist 2 Aussie products for £6! One of the items that I picked up was the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner. The leave in conditioner is for weak and distressed hair. It contains Australian Jojoba Oil which helps to detangle and protect your hair from everyday wear and tear. It smells absolutely yummy and comes in a decent sized spray bottle.

All you have to do is spray onto towel dried clean hair and comb through then style as normal. I have used this spray each time I’ve washed my hair since purchasing it and my hairs condition is improving more and more with each use. My hair is damaged due to bleach and heated stylers so it is in need of as much conditioning as possible and this is a godsend and there’s no excuse not to buy it as its really affordable and its suitable for all hair types. This is now a hair must! On its own the conditioner costs £3.67 and you can buy this from various places such as Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and even Asda. Aussie are always offering great deals so keep your eyes peeled for offers!

Sheldon identified three distinct body types: 1. The Mesomorphs - the genetically gifted types who are lean, muscular and naturally athletic. 2. The Endomorphs - The fat retainers. Endomorphs have a round body shape and large joints (they are “big boned”) and they often have great difficulty losing body fat. There’s a good chance that if you struggle to lose the weight, you are an endomorph or you are at least partially endomorph. 3. The Ectomorphs - the lean, skinny types. They are usually very thin and bony, with fast metabolisms and extremely low body fat. From the above information you can see that the endomorph body type is someone who is genetically prone to store fat easily due to a slow metabolism. Endomorph body types are usually, but not always, large-framed with medium to large joints.

If you’re an endomorph and you mess up on your diet, the surplus calories are almost certain to go to fat. Even when you’re in a caloric deficit, it seems like the fat goes down at a painfully slow rate. Your ability to lose weight will be impaired if you do not know what to eat to encourage weight loss. If you think you are an endomorph don’t lose heart, there are countless examples of endomorphs who were once overweight or obese and who went on to lose weight and become super lean. What they did was to simply understand their body type and adjust their nutrition and training accordingly. They understood that they couldn’t copy someone else’s diet and lose weight unless that other person had the same type of body, weight and height. Remember the secret - a very healthy life!

Lose weight strategies work best when you know your body type and follow good healthy eating and exercise. A balanced diet and daily exercise should always be a large part of any weight loss program. Eating recommended portions from all the food groups spaced throughout the day will not only help in you lose weight but it willhelp you feel better too. Google food guide for healthy eating suggestions. If you’re eating wrong for your body type, you may never be able to lose weight successfully. Are you an endomorph, mesomorph or ectomorph body type? If you are not sure, then this could be the reason you failed to lose weight on your last followed diet, or why your weight loss has fallen short of your expectations. To maximize the results of your diet, regardless of whether your goal is to lose weight or to gain muscle, you must adjust your diet according to your body type.

Whatever body type you have been born with most of the factors involved in losing weight are totally under your control. You can achieve fantastic results, regardless of your genetics, as long as you recognize and understand your body type and then adopt the proper nutrition and training strategies suited to your own needs. In the 1940’s, Dr. William H Sheldon, an American psychologist became fascinated by the study of human body types. Sheldon’s devoted his life to observing how body types were related to temperaments. As a part of his extensive research on the subject, Sheldon developed a three part classification system for body types known as Somatotyping. It is interesting to understand the boy types in order to have a much better understanding of why some people struggle to lose weight.

Recipe 169 - T-bone steak

The actual name is t-bone steak with potato wedges and onion rings. As you will see, a couple of those were missing.

Weird ingredients and substitutes: Nil.

Preparation: I slightly-melted the butter in the microwave, and then mixed the Worcestershire sauce and chopped parsley with it. This mixture is then put back into the fridge.

Cooking process: Cook steaks both sides. I know Nigella talks about wrapping each one in foil and letting it rest, but really I was too impatient, and just cooked them until they were how I thought I wanted them.

End result: Served with leftover coleslaw and potato salad from the night before (non-Nigella meal). While impressive, the salads were bought from the supermarket. The meal was okay. The steak was fine with the flavoured butter, it was just that the t-bone was a pain to cut around. I know that I've said that I've enjoyed some steak meals, now I'm thinking that it's steak meals where the steak has already been cut up, rather than a whole chunk of meat in front of me. I'd prefer a better but smaller cut to this.

Repeatability: No.

Cost: I think two t-bones cost me just over $12, parsley was from the garden, so $13.

Mess: A few oil splatters when frying the steak, but nothing too major.
Special utensils: I don't have a griddle. I just used my frypan.

Weird ingredients and substitutes: Ever since the cyclone in Queensland earlier this year, bananas have gone up to $15 per kilo, and they have been sorely lacking in the Next Nigella's diet. As it so happened, the Next Nigella was able to source one very precious, valuable and lonely banana.

Preparation: Melt butter. All other ingredients go into the blender. Don't you love these type of easy-mix pancakes? The Next Nigella is aware that she appears to have gone awol... She has been cooking, but hasn't quite made it to blogging.

Cooking process: Drop tablespoonfuls of the batter into the frying pan, which makes a bunch.

End result: Mine were served with mixed berry jam, Hubby had his plain. They are so light and fluffy! Absolutely delicious.

Repeatability: Yes, but only when bananas come back to a reasonable price.

Cost: Banana was free, rest of the ingredients were about $3 worth.

Mess: No, not really.

Weird ingredients and substitutes: Nil.

Preparation: I couldn't find minced lamb at the supermarket, so bought the nicest lamb steaks I could find and minced my own. So, mince lamb, add spring onions and spices, semolina and egg. Mix together and put in fridge for half an hour. Then roll the mixture into balls.

Cooking process: In an oiled frypan, cook the meatballs, turning while cooking. I did find it difficult to ensure that they were cooked through.

End result: Served in a pita bread, with hummus, lettuce leaves, tomato, red onion and chilli sauce. Yum. We really enjoyed this.

Repeatability: Yes.

Cost: $12 for about 5 servings (including the pita and hummus).

Mess: It is messy making the balls themselves, and it is messy cooking them.

Special utensils: A food processor (if you can't find minced lamb).Stefan Moxahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06163506392644126278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2887893373902129407.post-32870030988411825432012-11-02T05:46:00.002-07:002012-11-02T05:49:07.459-07:00Baby Burgers

Recipe 172 - Baby Burgers

Weird ingredients and substitutes: I didn't have garlic oil.

Preparation: Add salt and sugar to the mince. It is supposed to be left in the fridge for a couple hours at this stage, but typically, I am making this 10 min. before we are looking to eat dinner.

Cooking process: Nigella does say to fry the burgers, but given the lamb meatballs and how hard it was to ensure that they were cooked through, I just put the patties into the oven to bake.

End result: Oops. I did forget to take a photo until I was halfway through the burger. It was okay, not fantastic though.

Repeatability: Nah.

Cost: $12 when I doubled the recipe, but I should have kept it as specified, as we didn't finish the rest.

Recipe 173 - Caesar Salad

Weird ingredients and substitutes: Nil.

Preparation and cooking process: There are 3 steps to this. Firstly, cube potatoes and roast with garlic and olive oil. Yummy. Secondly, boil the eggs (I hard-boiled mine). Thirdly, prepare the salad with dressing. I do admit that I was tasting the potato croutons when they came out of the oven, and had to stop myself, to ensure that there would be enough for the salad...

End result: Served with baked chicken. I did however, forget to add the parmesan cheese at the end. The potatoes were so nice though - we enjoyed this so much.

Repeatability: Yes.

Cost: $5 for both of us (not including the chicken).

Mess: Not really, I used a non-stick tray for the potato croutons and they came off easily.

Special utensils: A non-stick tray helps. A citrus zester.

Recipe 174 - Crunchy pork chops with garlicky spinach and tomato salad

Weird ingredients and substitutes: I hope that by breadcrumbs, Nigella means breadcrumbs that came out of a packet and flavoured with italian spices. Because that's what I used. Unfortunately, I only had one tomato left in the fridge, so had to cut down on the salad quantity.

Preparation: Trim and beat pork chops. This was quite fun. Dip into egg mixture and then parmesaned breadcrumbs.

Cooking process: Fry pork chops. In the meantime, deseed tomato and dice. Add garlic, oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper and spinach.

End result: This was delicious. The pork chops were crunchy (a little oily though), and it would have been nice if there was more salad to counter-balance the slab of meat. Oh well, next time.
